Win a Classic Restored 1962 Schwinn Corvette Bicycle 

On Sunday Dec 7, from 8.30 to 11am, the ladies Auxiliary will hold their usual first Sunday of the month pancake Breakfast. The menu includes pancakes, bacon, fruit, scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee, tea, linen,
china all for only 6$. Dog friendly seating is available on the veranda. 

Be there for this one, we're concluding our bike raffle for a restored 1962 Schwinn Corvette vintage bike.

Thanksgiving Feast At Willow Glen Post 318
November 27, 2014

The ladies of the American Legion Unit 318 Auxiliary invite you to a Thanksgiving Celebratory Potluck dinner on November 27th at Willow Glen Post 318. The post is located just east of Meridian Ave at 1504 Minnesota Ave. in San Jose.  
Social hour starts at 2:00pm and Dinner starts at 4:00pm.

After dinner will be dancing for the brave, games and other fun activities. Bring your own game if you have a favorite, or just relax on a comfy couch in front of a fireplace.
Members, veterans, active-duty military and their families are invited. 
If you're able to bring food then please let us know. We've got plenty of turkey and ham but could still use side dishs or deserts to share!

Toys For Tots

Post 318 is proud to be a drop off location for the Marine Corps Toys-For-Tots program. Please drop off your new, unwrapped toys in one of the Toys-For-Tots boxes on our front porch at 1504 Minnesota Ave. For more information about the program visit

Grief Counseling

2nd Vice Commander John Parks is shown completing the installation of our Unserviceable American Flag Drop Box on the front porch of the Post. Many thanks to Pan American Body Shop for the painting and Commercial Graphics Installations for the great artwork and graphics. Please consider these fine companies when you may need their services. Also thanks to the U.S. Postal Service for donating the mail box.

TALARC, The American Legion Amateur Radio Club, has expanded and changed its schedule for nets and added EchoLink capabilities to the previous IRLP only net. Please see the Amateur Radio page for information about the new net schedule and and for information about becoming an Amateur Radio operator. All Hams, especially Legion members, are invited to participate in any of the nets.

We have created an email list service which will allow you to receive notices about posting of the Messenger newsletter and occasional announcements about upcoming events by email. For information and to subscribe to the list goto the Email List Options menu selection.

The Post 318 Auxiliary is sponsoring a breakfast fundraiser on the first Sunday of every month from 8:30am to 11:00am. This monthly breakfast at Post 318 features pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, coffee, and juice. The requested donation  is just $6.00 per person, $5.00 for students and active duty military. Everyone is invited. Bring your family and friends.

 The Post General Meeting is held  at 7:00 PM on the 4th Wednesday of each month except June and December.  All members are welcome to the pre-meeting meal at 6:00 PM. Please see the Calendar page for all scheduled events.
