For those of you who shop at Lowes, their military discount policy changed as of January 5th, 2018. You now need to sign up with a Lowes account and apply for the military discount on line in order to receive a discount on line or in a store. You sign up at www.lowes.com/military after which you use your registered phone number or a Lowe’s card to receive the discount. The good news is that all veterans, not just retired veterans, are eligible for this discount every day.
There is no word on whether or not Home Depot will be following suit. Currently the official policy for discount is for active duty, retired, or disabled veterans only except that all veterans can receive the discount on 4 specified days per year. Some stores, however, will honor a discount for all veterans. This appears to be a policy decision by the local store manager. Home Depot also stopped offering the discount for special orders and on-line purchases some time in 2017.
